Brea, Calif. (Aug. 15, 2014) - Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. (VPI), the nation’s first and largest pet health insurance company, announced that it has been added as an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Preferred Business Provider for pet wellness plans. As the only organization in the United States and Canada that accredits companion animal hospitals based on standards that meet or exceed state regulations, the AAHA recommendation for Pet Wellness Everyday Care plans from VPI recognizes the important role preventive care plays in patient care and the need for planned financial assurance clients can rely on.
As the only pet health insurer in the nation to offer standalone preventive care plans, Everyday Care plans from VPI reimburse pet owners for eligible expenses, and were designed to support the AAHA-AVMA preventive healthcare guidelines.
“As a strong advocate of preventive care, VPI developed Everyday Care plans to offer a simple financial solution for veterinary clients,” said Carol McConnell, DVM, MBA and Chief Veterinary Officer at VPI. “We value AAHA’s recommendation of our Pet Wellness Everyday Care plans and look forward to working together to promote this initiative that is critical to both the health of our patients and our profession.”
VPI’s Everyday Care plans can be purchased individually, or in conjunction with a comprehensive VPI pet health insurance policy that covers illnesses and accidents.
“We believe VPI’s Everyday Care Plans are consistent with our core mission of improving pet health and increasing patient visits by providing pet owners with cost-effective ways to manage ongoing pet health care costs,” said Michael Cavanaugh, DVM, DABVP, CEO of AAHA. “By offering this program, we hope we can improve overall pet health by encouraging even more pet owners to commit to regular preventive care for their pets.”
