Brea, Calif. (April 17, 2013) – The North American Pet Health Insurance Association (NAPHIA) and Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. (VPI), a member of the Nationwide Insurance family of companies, has announced that VPI is joining NAPHIA and that Scott Liles, president of VPI, will represent VPI on the association’s Board of Directors.
“Like NAPHIA, VPI believes in setting high standards for the industry in service, coverage and transparency,” said Scott Liles. “In order for NAPHIA and the industry to be even more successful, we felt it was time for VPI, the nation’s oldest and largest provider of pet health insurance, to actively participate in NAPHIA’s vision and endeavors.”

Prior to joining VPI, Liles held strategy roles at both Nationwide Insurance corporate and most recently for the Nationwide Growth Solutions portfolio of companies, which includes VPI. During the course of his career Liles has served in a number of senior strategic positions for companies such as McKinsey & Company, Accenture Strategic Services and The British Broadcasting Corporation. One of his first positions was working with the United Nations development program in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Liles has a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Texas A&M, a Master of Arts in economics from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, and a Master of Business Administration from the London Business School in the United Kingdom.
